Dr. Antonin Bérubé, DPM, is a Québec-based podiatrist and Founder & CEO of Podform3D.
In clinical practice since 2017, he founded Podform3D after experiencing the delays, costs, and loss of clinical control associated with conventional orthotic-lab workflows. He now works with clinics to adopt practical in-clinic digital workflows for custom foot orthotics, from scanning and prescription through design and 3D printing.
His perspective combines hands-on podiatric care with real-world implementation experience, helping clinicians use accessible technology while preserving sound clinical decision-making and craftsmanship.
In-Clinic 3D-Printed Orthotics – What worked. What failed. What clinics need to know.
Custom foot orthotic production is often fragmented between the clinic, laboratory, and external fabrication partners.
This session presents a practical, clinically led approach to bringing scanning, design, and 3D printing into the practice. Using a real-world Podform3D workflow, attendees will follow the steps from foot capture and prescription decisions to digital design and print preparation. The discussion highlights what works, what fails, and where clinics commonly lose time, margin, or quality during implementation.
Participants will learn how accessible desktop printing can support faster turnaround, repeatable fabrication, and direct clinical adjustments without replacing clinical judgment or the craftsmanship of custom orthotic care.
