
Mr Benn Boshell is a podiatrist with extensive experience in the management of a wide range of musculoskeletal foot and ankle conditions. He has a particular specialist interest in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided minimally invasive procedures.
Mr Boshell is one of a small number of clinicians in the UK with extensive experience performing ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for Morton’s neuroma and other chronic foot and ankle conditions. Since introducing the technique into his clinical practice in 2021, he has developed significant expertise in patient selection, ultrasound-guided procedural techniques, and post-procedure management, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice and clinical outcomes.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Boshell is committed to advancing the use of minimally invasive treatments through continual appraisal of the latest research, collaboration with colleagues both in the UK and internationally, and ongoing evaluation of his own clinical outcomes. His practice also includes the use of ultrasound-guided interventions for conditions including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, osteoarthritis, and peripheral nerve disorders.
Radiofrequency Ablation for Morton’s Neuroma
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has emerged as a minimally invasive treatment option for patients with Morton’s neuroma who have persistent symptoms despite conservative management. This presentation will provide an introductory overview of the role of RFA in the management of Morton’s neuroma, including the underlying principles of the technique, patient selection, current evidence for efficacy and safety, and its place within the wider treatment pathway.
The session will also discuss practical aspects of the procedure, including ultrasound guidance, procedural considerations, expected outcomes, potential complications, and post-procedure rehabilitation. Delegates will gain an understanding of where RFA may fit into contemporary clinical practice and the current evidence supporting its use.
