Louise Reaney

Lead Podiatrist at LR Podiatry

I am a podiatrist and co owner of a busy private practice in Sheffield city centre. Having started out as a sole practitioner providing largely routine podiatry, I have spent the last nine years expanding our scope of practice to include a broad and established MSK caseload.

With first hand experience of how easily MSK confidence can be lost in private practice, I am passionate about making MSK assessment accessible, practical and sustainable for everyday clinicians. I regularly uses Formthotics as a core treatment tool and enjoy sharing real world insights into building confidence, skills and professional satisfaction in podiatry.

Avoiding MSK? You’re Not Alone, But You Don’t Have to Be!

MSK assessment is one of the most common things podiatrists know they should be doing and one of the most commonly avoided in private practice.

In this frank and engaging talk, I will reflect on my own journey from routine only podiatry to leading a multi clinician practice with a strong MSK focus. I will discuss why MSK confidence fades so easily, why avoidance is far more common than we like to admit, and how small, realistic changes can transform both clinical confidence and practice sustainability.

The session will focus on practical, achievable approaches to MSK rather than theory heavy protocols, including how tools such as Formthotics can support decision making, patient communication and treatment progression.

Ideal for podiatrists who want to build MSK into their practice without fear, overwhelm or pretending they “know it all”.

This session is particularly relevant for sole practitioners and small private practices looking to broaden services and increase revenue.
