Myofascial Release Techniques

This hands-on workshop equips podiatrists with practical myofascial release techniques specifically for the foot and lower limb. Fascia helps stabilise and anchor muscles and other internal structures. When a muscle or its overlying tissue become irritate through injury, surgery or over-use, fascia may become irregular and overlapping collagen Fibers within the fascial layer. Fascial adhesions can affect mobility and range of motion.

You’ll learn:

  • how to identify fascial restrictions contributing to common presentations such as plantar heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy and more.
  • how to apply different stroke technique, appropriate pressure, duration and safe effective myofascial release you can use immediately in clinic.

The session also explores the role of fascia in pain and movement, helping you confidently integrate myofascial release alongside orthotics, mobilisation, manipulation, strengthening, and load management strategies.
