Abban Qayyum

Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist / First Contact Physiotherapist

I currently work in primary care alongside GP’s as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist/First Contact Physiotherapist and injection therapist primarily managing undiagnosed and undifferentiated musculoskeletal pathologies. Having worked across different specialities within the physiotherapy profession over the last 10 years, I’ve been privileged enough to work alongside some imminent and reputable physiotherapists which have all contributed to my clinical skill set and underpinning knowledge acquisition. Having a strong background in managing private clinics in central London and working for the NHS, it’s really helped develop this profound interest I now possess around exercise and its impact on the management of people with diabetes.

The Impact of Physical Activity on Diabetes

Truly understanding the pathophysiological effect of the different forms of exercise in both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Breaking through psychological barriers and underlying anxiety with enhanced understanding of the benefits and safety of exercise for improved health and quality of life.
